TOTAL RECALL Remake First Official Image

The first official image from Len Wiseman's remake of "Total Recall" has hit the web, via Collider.com. As you can see it's appropriately intense and Colin Farrell echoes his days when he was playing a CIA rookie on the run in "The Recruit" (co-starring Al Pacino). In the midst of a future war between Euromerica and New Shanghai, Doug Quaid (Farrell), a factory worker, becomes convinced he's a spy, but doesn't know who exactly it is he's working for. The remake is still in its production stages, with the release date set for August 3, 2012. The movie also stars Kate Beckinsale (the director's wife), Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, Bill Nighy, John Cho and Ethan Hawke (in an undisclosed cameo). Here's another image from the set of "Total Recall", which gives us an idea about the futuristic design of the movie (Source: Screenrant.com).

I'm honestly harboring some mixed feelings about this one. Sure, it's going to be a lot more faithful to Phillip K. Dick's source material, but is that really enough ? Paul Verhoeven's version had a particularly engaging style and his trademark over-the-top violence, which made the movie a dark violent sci-fi thriller that worked far better than anybody expected. Will Len Wiseman's workmanlike directorial talents be enough ? I mean he managed to make "Die Hard 4" unconvincing and flat. Is he really the right man for this remake ?

Tank Top Tuesday

I like my women doing everyday things in tank tops. Because the unique charms of the tank are applicable in almost any situation. Like with our friend Alexandra Hedison grabbing a bite to eat. Glad she decided against buttering that toast though, because we all know her penchant for getting carried away with knives. My point, and do have something close to one, is that the tank top is a versatile accessory which is appropriate for any activity.

Zhang ZiyiWhen considering how best to recycle the morning paper.

Alison LohmanWhen quenching one’s thirst after a day of garden work.

Zoe SaldanaWhen moisturizing before bedtime.

Charlize TheronWhen contemplating the theory of relativity.

Jennifer Tilly & Gina GershonWhen plotting how to rip off the mob and have great lesbian sex.

Jessica BielWhen hunting vampires, duh.

Anna FrielWhen stewing over the injustice of canceling “Pushing Daisies.”

Kate BeckinsaleWhen thoughtfully testing the room temperature before guests arrive. Verdict: It’s a little nippy.
