TOTAL RECALL Remake First Official Image

The first official image from Len Wiseman's remake of "Total Recall" has hit the web, via Collider.com. As you can see it's appropriately intense and Colin Farrell echoes his days when he was playing a CIA rookie on the run in "The Recruit" (co-starring Al Pacino). In the midst of a future war between Euromerica and New Shanghai, Doug Quaid (Farrell), a factory worker, becomes convinced he's a spy, but doesn't know who exactly it is he's working for. The remake is still in its production stages, with the release date set for August 3, 2012. The movie also stars Kate Beckinsale (the director's wife), Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, Bill Nighy, John Cho and Ethan Hawke (in an undisclosed cameo). Here's another image from the set of "Total Recall", which gives us an idea about the futuristic design of the movie (Source: Screenrant.com).

I'm honestly harboring some mixed feelings about this one. Sure, it's going to be a lot more faithful to Phillip K. Dick's source material, but is that really enough ? Paul Verhoeven's version had a particularly engaging style and his trademark over-the-top violence, which made the movie a dark violent sci-fi thriller that worked far better than anybody expected. Will Len Wiseman's workmanlike directorial talents be enough ? I mean he managed to make "Die Hard 4" unconvincing and flat. Is he really the right man for this remake ?

In Theaters Now : HORRIBLE BOSSES (2011)

Official Synopsis : For Nick (Jason Bateman), Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) and Dale (Charlie Day), the only thing that would make the daily grind more tolerable would be to grind their intolerable bosses (Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell, Jennifer Aniston) into dust. Quitting is not an option, so, with the benefit of a few-too-many drinks and some dubious advice from a hustling ex-con (Jamie Foxx), the three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective employers... permanently. There's only one problem: even the best laid plans are only as foolproof as the brains behind them. -- (C) Warner Bros

FRIGHT NIGHT - Exclusive MTV Movie Awards Trailer

The 2011 MTV Movie Awards might have been somewhat disappointing, but the big plus was that they aired some exclusive trailers for movies like"Super 8", "Fright Night" and, yes, of course, "The Twilight Saga : Breaking Dawn Part 1". The trailer for "Fright Night" reveals a lot more horror action than the first trailer and a bit more of David Tennant's part as a sort of vampire hunter. And it does seem like Colin Farrell is having a great time with his part as Jerry, the vampire next door.

While the movie does indeed promis a lot of vampire ass kicking and raunchy fun, it also seems to rely heavily on the 3D gimmicks. Doubts have already started to surface on the web about the murky scenes and how they will translate into 3D, which as you may or may not know drains the brightness out of the picture considerably. Directed by Craig Gillespie ("Lars and the Real Girl", "Mr. Woodcock"), the movie opens on August 19, 2011.
