Heart Evangelista: Telebabad Show with Dingdong shelved; Legacy Series with Geoff and Iza, shelved as well

MST:

Not very many has the heart strong enough to survive intrigues in show business, especially when they get involved with someone more favored by the powers-that-be in a monolithic corporate management of a network.

Yet, Heart Evangelista who recently got embroiled in a mess with a more favored talent in the network she is signed in just had to hold on to her faith as a performer and as a person, believing she hadn’t stepped on anybody’s toes nor hurt anyone.

In fact, in the last couple of months that she has been kept in limbo by the network’s management, she has had the chance to engage in criticism-self criticism, looking at other prospects, in case her acting career would slow down as an effect of that imbroglio.

She has just renewed her contract with GMA Network, Inc. and that means she will be on the network for the next two years or so.

The question is, will she be just one of those waiting for their stars to lose brilliance till the contract expires?
On the one hand, she finds joy in the fact she has been in show business in the last 10 years.

And she has fond memories of those years, like in 2001 when she was awarded Best New TV Personality by PMPC. From then, she says that it has been a fruitful journey. That award reflected the way she has carefully handled her relationship with the viewing public. No wonder she has really become one of TV’s amiable personalities over the years.

Looking back, even with a few bumps on the road that go along for being a showbiz star, it was o doubt a great ride. And what better way to go on with the trip by being grateful of all the blessings she has received in her storied career.

Born on Feb. 14, 1985 to Reynaldo Ongpauco and Cecilia Payawal, Heart is the youngest in a brood of six. She grew up in California, United States where she attended Audubon Elementary School. At age 10, her family moved back to the Philippines and soon she began pursuing her childhood dream of becoming an actress.

She moved to GMA Network in 2008 and signed a two-year exclusive contract, starring in the series Codename-Asero. She played the title role in Ay Ayeng wherein she won a Famas Best Actress trophy the following year.

Heart’s recent TV works include lead roles in Dwarfina, and Langit Sa Piling Mo which were both certified top-raters, having beaten their head-to-head counterparts from other TV stations. She also participated in last year’s Puso Ng Pasko: Artista Challenge. She appeared in Mano Po 6 and Nobody, Nobody But Juan in 2009.

With the issue involving her a fellow actor in Temptation Island, Heart has found herself in a lose-lose situation for now. GMA Network has shelved the drama that should have had her and Dingdong Dantes in the lead roles, in case Marian Rivera, the latter’s girlfriend, would lose her mind and might even do worse than what she did to Heart during the shooting of Temptation Island, the details of which had been splashed in newspapers, magazines, and bloggers websites.

The network seems at a lose with what to do with her. Geoff Eigenmann told us in Iriga City two weeks ago that he would start a new soap with Heart, yet Heart says that Legacy (that was supposed to be the title of the series) had been shelved as well.

GMA-7 cancels Heart-Dingdong soap; Evangelista in floating mode !?

MB:

Heart’s Presence: “Love is in the air” was actress Heart Evangelista’s quotable quote when she graced the fifth Star Magic Ball held Sept. 3 at the Manila Peninsula Hotel.

The actress’ presence at an ABS-CBN affair stirred a bit of a hornet’s nest in the light of her current affiliation. Heart is an exclusive contract artist of GMA, where she transferred in 2008 after having spent seven years at the Bohol network.

In an interview with the Bulletin along with a handful of other media persons on Sept. 5, Heart said her presence at the Star Magic Ball need not be seen as a sign that she’ll be changing networks again soon. “I was personally invited by Mr. M and Tita Mariole (Alberto). The Star Magic is family to me. I grew up with them,” she said.

Despite the explanation, it can’t be helped that observers would think otherwise. People in the industry are aware of how Heart stands at GMA at this point following her controversial feud with Marian Rivera.

Heart has not been working since five months ago with the exit of her last series, “Dwarfina.” She has only “Party Pilipinas” on Sundays. On the days that Marian reports for work on “PP,” Heart is exempted from reporting for work.

Network executives have seemingly devised a plan that would make sure that the two actresses wouldn’t cross each other’s paths.

Cancelled Soap: While GMA has issued a statement that it had patched up the differences between the two female stars, the same network has seemingly made sure that the two women would never be in the same room together.

GMA has also reportedly cancelled “Cain at Abel,” the soap opera that Heart was supposed to star in with Dingdong Dantes. It was the very bone of contention that separated Marian and Heart. Recall that Marian reportedly disliked the idea that Heart was to co-star with her boyfriend. The revelation to this effect from Heart herself ignited Marian’s wrath.

With the cancellation of “Cain at Abel,” Heart has suddenly found herself in floating mode. She has not heard from the network again of a possible next show.

Meanwhile, Dingdong is reportedly set to star a new series with Rhian Ramos called “Sugo.” Word was out a few weeks back that Heart was going to co-star with Geoff Eigenmann in a series tentatively called “Legacy,” about the fashion world, but not much has been heard of this plan again.

In a text message, network executive Wilma Galvante says “Cain at Abel” has been shelved for further development.

Heart Evangelista still Proud Kapuso; douses rumor that she's gone Kapamilya

MB:

Though Heart Evangelista’s attendance at the recent Star Magic Ball spawned rumors that she’s mulling a return to the Kapamilya network, the actress denies it.

Heart said that she was invited to the event by Star Magic heads Johnny Manahan [Mr. M] and Mariole Alberto whom she regards as her parents in show business---and that's all there is to it.

“No,” Heart wailed when asked about the talks. “I don’t want naman to let people [feel] na ay pina-pirate. It wasn’t like that. I was invited by Mr. M and tita Mariole. Okay naman kami. We have a good relationship. I’m really, really happy. Growing up with them was really great,” she explained at a mini-presscon on Sept. 5.

Heart felt welcome at the Star Magic Ball. “They don’t have anything negative. They were just really nice to invite me and I really felt so magical. It’s so nice to see all these people, the directors, everybody. I really felt so loved and I miss them so much. They really made me feel loved. After all that’s said and done para akong prodigal daughter.”

At the ball, Heart was in the company of Mr. M , Mariole, her former handlers, Diether Ocampo and Gabby Lopez.

“Parang it was four years ago and there was a lot of catching up to do,” she mused aloud.

For more than five months now, Heart still has no project with the Kapuso network. Does she feel there are people working against her?

“I hope not. It was really very unfair. I don’t think that’s how it should be handled. Sana ‘wag naman.”

She added, “I’m actually okay that I’m not doing anything. Kasi I’m really contemplating on what I really want. Okay lang din. Parang I’m building up my thinking of all these things that I want to do. Ewan ko kung I’m maturing also from it, gathering my strength on what I’m about to do next.”

Heart laments, “I don’t really wanna quit. I’d really wanna be in a place where they’re excited about what I can offer. These days I haven’t been feeling that way.”

And since she has a lot of time on her hands these days, Heart plans to take a sabbatical in October. She will fly to New York and stay there for two weeks then head off to her next destination, Australia. However, her boyfriend, Daniel Matsunaga, will not accompany her on both trips.

Kapuso star Heart Evangelista attends Kapamilya's Star Magic Ball

PEP:

Kapuso star Heart Evangelista surprised the entertainment press and onlookers when she arrived at the 5th Star Magic Ball held at The Peninsula Manila in Makati City last night, September 3.

Her attendance to the annual event of ABS-CBN's talent arm made people wonder aloud: "Is she going back to Star Magic? Is she returning to ABS-CBN?"

Heart was a talent of Star Magic before she moved to GMA-7 in 2008.

The former Dwarfina actress announced: "Nothing naman concrete pa, you know.

"As long as there's love in the air here and everybody is okay. You know, I'm so excited to be here. [One] day at a time, you know.

"No, wala pa namang anything. It's just nice na there's peace and, you know, sabi ko nga, there's love in the air."

Heart's showbiz career is now being managed by her mother, Cecile Ongpauco.

The Kapuso actress said she just really made time for the occasion because, "Of course, they [Star Magic] have [made] a really big special mark in my heart."

Heart is also grateful that she got invited to this year's Star Magic Ball.

"Na-miss ko 'to. It's nice to be here and see familiar faces, people you've grown up with.

"It's such a nice privilege that they invited me, you know, after almost four years of being away from Star Magic, Mr. M [Johnny Manahan], and everybody, Tita Mariolle [Alberto]."

Meanwhile, Heart tried to avoid questions about her rift with Temptation Island co-star and fellow GMA-7 talent Marian Rivera.

"Everything is peaceful, just how I want it to be," she said.

Dingdong-Heart primetime project on hold

Because of the Marian Rivera and Heart Evangelista conflict, it has been reported that the project pairing Heart with Marian’s boyfriend, Dingdong Dantes, won’t push through.

The "Temptation Island" ladies were reported to have had a confrontation stemming from Heart’s alleged remark about being paired with Dingdong in "Cain and Abel."

Heart’s camp decided to speak up after arriving from her vacation with boyfriend Daniel Matsunaga in Brazil. She denied the malicious accusations thrown at her. Here is her side of the story:

"I wanted to settle this issue privately, pero kailangan ko ng i-defend ang sarili ko. The false and mean things that have been reported about me in the media and online have damaged my reputation. I have even received death threats from the fans of Marian Rivera. I am traumatized and very scared. Once and for all, I want to share the truth about what happened in Ilocos.

"Apparently, Marian did not know that GMA has announced that I was going to work with Mr. Dingdong Dantes."

Marian, she said, took her comment in a different way and started making her feel alienated on the set of "Temptation Island." Marian allegedly barged in Heart’s hotel room twice to confront the young actress.

According to Heart, Marian verbally abused and threatened her in her room.

"She confronted me twice in my hotel room. Nagulat po ako nag alit nag alit sya, at sinisigawan ako. Takot na takot ako. I started to cry," Heart lamented.

"The director advised me to call my mom after the first confrontation. I did that, but that still not stop the second incident from happening. After the second confrontation, hindi na po kami nag-usap ni Marian," said Heart.

After the movie shoot, Heart was fetched from the airport’s arrival area by her mother.

"I was so emotionally traumatized and physically tired from the incident that my mom arranged for two NAIA employees to fetch me from the arrival area. It’s not true that there was a confrontation between my mom and Marian. ‘Ni hindi sila nag-usap," the actress explained. According to Heart, she and her mom just wanted to go home from the airport.

"You can ask anybody who was there. We went home kaagad after I got off the plane, Heart added.

"I just want to work hard and get along with everyone. The incidents with Marian are beyond my comprehension. I still cannot believe I am in this," Heart said.

Heart’s counsel, Atty. Archimedes Gonzales, spoke at a press conference to clarify that they are open to an "amicable settlement" of the issue.

"We’re fluid in this matter," he said.

"This press conference is about fairness, so our client’s side is aired, because she has been quiet all this time."

"She would want to resolve this peacefully," he added.

Meanwhile, Marian’s camp has decided to remain silent about Heart’s revelations.
