Sam Concepcion and Elmo Magalona grace back-to-back covers of Candy Cuties Special

PEP:

This September, Candy magazine, the Philippines' number one teen magazine, once again gathers the cutest teen boys in the metro in their annual Candy Cuties Special. Led by teen heartthrobs Sam Concepcion and Elmo Magalona, this year's Candy Cuties are composed of celebrities and regular boys handpicked by the Candy editors.

In an interview with Candy, Sam and Elmo share the things that they look for in a girl, what gets their hearts racing, and tips on how to win their hearts. Elmo says, "I love girls who aren't afraid to take risks, follow their dreams, and do something crazy and spontaneous!"

Sam, who has been a Candy Cutie for five years, tells Candy about his ideal girl. "I love girls who make an effort to make a guy smile, get to know a guy before getting into a relationship, and understand and appreciate my quirks," he says.

Sam and Elmo are joined by Tween Academy stars Jake Vargas, Joshua Dionisio, Kristoffer Martin, Derrick Monasterio, and Alden Richards.

Also making it to this year's list are Kapamilya stars Albie Casiño, Enrique Gil, Martin del Rosario, James Reid, and Ivan Dorschner. The complete list is in the September issue of Candy.

Fans can catch Sam and Elmo on September 24 at the annual Candy Fair, Candy magazine's biggest and most exciting teen event of the year—from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Megatent Events Venue, Ortigas, Pasig City.

Candy girls are in for a treat as fun booth activities, exciting games, celebrity performances, and bonding time with the Candy Cuties await them.

Elmo Magalona's 'Teach Me Hot to Dougie’ version makes trending topic on Twitter

MB:

Young rap artist Elmo Magalona was surprised that his hip-hop act on “Eat Bulaga” recently became a trending topic on Twitter.

“I wasn’t expecting anything like that. But it was the number I did on 'Eat Bulaga,'” Elmo said on “24 Oras,” Sept. 1.

Elmo performed California Swag District’s “Teach Me How To Dougie” on the said noontime show on Aug. 30.

The “24 Oras” report said that “para masabing trending ang topic, kailangang may isang milyong tweets at a given time patungkol sa isang usapin.”

Francis Magalona’s son was more than happy over the public’s response to his number.

“Ilang viewers na natuwa pero pati ako siyempre natuwa dahil ‘yun nakapag-perform ako ng number na gustung-gusto ko talaga,” he said.

Because of this, the cast member of GMA Films’ “Tween Academy: Class of 2012” is now inspired to do his best in future performances.

“Siyempre dahil do’n kailangan ko siyempre ipakita ‘yung mas magandang... I had to make it better pa than the last one, than the biggest one.”

The GMA primetime news program flashed some of the tweets during the report:

“RT @maxenemagalona: Elmo Magalona Elmo Magalona Elmo Magalona!!! @SuperElmo is trending in the Philippines!!! :),” patriziamae tweeted.

For @superceejaay, “Elmo Magalona deserves to be in the trending list! keep him in the list!”

“Elmo Magalona is still trending woohoo! ☺Elmo Magalona! Elmo Magalona! ElmoMagalona! Elmo Magalona! Elmo Magalona! Elmo Magalona!” Claramags tweeted.

Elmo’s sister, Saab Magalona, shared an anecdote that underscored her brother’s popularity.

“Kapag lumalabas kami... there was this one time na na-mob talaga siya. Ako siyempre, ate, talagang parang naging bodyguard talaga ako kasi the girls are going crazy and they were crying... as in Justin Bieber level,” Saab related on “24 Oras.”

Elmo recalls first on-screen kiss

MB:

Elmo Magalona could not have been blessed with a better first on-screen kiss partner than Sam Pinto in “Tween Academy: Class of 2012” where the newbie actor plays a shy-type tween infatuated with his remedial class teacher played by FHM’s sexiest.

“That kissing scene gave me a lot of pressure,” Elmo confessed. “Sobra talaga pressure at kaba ko. Imagine kissing Sam Pinto? Wow! Kinabahan talaga ako. Kasi naman, Sam Pinto yan, FHM Sexiest Woman for 2011.”

When Bulletin Entertainment asked how long it took to shoot the scene, a blushing, Elmo said “Five takes!”

In “Tween Academy…” Sam plays Maddie, the boy who assumes that his teacher has a crush on him.

Elmo’s character is kind of an outcast, “at mga babae pa ang mga kaibigan ko – sina Kara at George (played by Barbie Forteza and Bea Binene, respectively).” As Enzo, he is perceived as an introvert. His character comes out of his shell as he experiences love for the first time.

“Tween Academy…” is a joint project between GMA Films and SM Development Corp. It gathers today’s hottest young stars in a story about the ups and downs of high school life. Topbillers are the Kapuso tweens Barbie Forteza, Joshua Dionisio, Bea Binene, Jake Vargas, Lexi Fernandez, Louise de los Reyes, Alden Richards, Derrick Monasterio, Kristoffer Martin, Joyce Ching, Yassi Pressman and of course, Elmo Magalona.

At 17, Elmo still stays with mom Pia and other younger siblings. A high school graduate, he hopes to enroll in filmmaking or a course about science when time warrants.
