Japan's seemingly endless obsession with panties has always been a very hot topic of discussion amongst foreigners and many Japanese folks as well. In 2007, a Japanese man in Osaka was arrested for stealing over 2000 pairs of women's lingerie:'Maeyasu Kawamura, 60, was indicted for theft on Friday, police in Osaka prefecture, western Japan, said...Kawamura has confessed to stealing the items, which included a wedding dress. “He seemed to get a thrill out of sleeping covered in women’s clothes,” a police spokesman said. “He seemed to like the smell.” No further details were available.'
Last year a popular Japanese Daily News Website reported on the launch of the very famous パンチラ時計 - Panchira Watch site which features a new photo of another Japanese schoolgirl cheerfully revealing her panties every minute. Panchira Watch now ranks as the third most visited site in Japan and the 37th worldwide in the Alexa web rankings.
Also, legend has it that the infamous Japanese schoolgirl used panty machines were originally started back in 1993 in the Chiba prefecture. The machines are hard to find these days, but apparently some "illegal" machines still exist in inner-city porn stores and out in the countryside.

Additionally, the Japanese text on the label says that these disposables are good for use in sports or on business trips. However, it is highly doubtful that these new trashable skivvies will all be thrown away.
