Palin e-mail "hacker" transferred to halfway house, will finish his sentence on November 23rd.

Courtesy of PC World:

David Kernell left a fenceless minimum-security federal prison in Ashland, Kentucky, where inmates are put to work on landscaping and building maintenance for between 12 and 40 cents per hour for the halfway house, according to a Tennessee television station.

Kernell was convicted last year of breaking into to Palin's Yahoo e-mail account during the 2008 presidential election. He outsmarted Yahoo's password reset system by correctly answering questions using information about Palin that was easily available on the Internet -- a technique that criminals continue to use to break into those accounts.

Apparently it took Kernell minutes to look up her birth date, ZIP code, and where she met her husband Todd (Wasilla High School). When they don't make any money from the crime, it's unusual for first-time hackers with no criminal records to get a prison sentence, but Kernell's case wasn't exactly typical. Palin and her eldest daughter Bristol testified during the trial, and prosecutors argued that a stiff sentence would deter further hacking during presidential elections.

This is, of course, a complete travesty of justice. And just another example of how the Palins leave a path of destruction wherever they go.

The ONLY reason that this kid, who by the way did not "hack" anything, was given such a stiff sentence was because Sarah and Bristol perjured themselves when asked what kind of impact the guessing of the password to the Yahoo account had on their lives.

The simple truth would have been that Sarah was freaked out that the world had discovered what an imbecile she was to use private Yahoo accounts to conduct state business, but THAT was glossed over in the testimony.

As I said back in April of 2010, Palin was extremely lucky that the person who guessed her password information was just some harmless college kid pulling a prank and NOT some political operative or foreign spy looking to find some damaging information on Palin that they could have used to REALLY hurt her, and potentially the people of Alaska.

Personally I hope that once David Kernell finishes his sentence that he gives a couple of interviews and tells people his side of the story, and how aggressively Sarah Palin worked to destroy his life in retribution for daring to reveal her ignorance.

What goes around, comes around, as News Corp's "The Sun" gets hacked.

 Courtesy of Neowin:

There's been a lot of media coverage around the News of the World hacking scandal this week, it appears that Lulzsec has stepped up against the parent company, Media Corp's other publications and has hacked Rupert Murdoch's major newspapers website, The Sun.

The website today redirected to an article on a elaborate copy of the official Sun website, that claimed Rupert Murdoch had died, and had been found in his garden.

The Lulzsec official Twitter account claimed they were behind the hack, tweeting; "We have owned Sun/News of the World - that story is simply phase 1 - expect the lulz to flow in coming days." and with a later tweet saying "The Sun's homepage now redirects to the Murdoch death story on the recently-owned New Times website. Can you spell success, gentlemen?"

Oh sweet irony.  I am not much of a fan of those that hack websites, but considering the garbage that Murdoch and his minions are involved with, I think this time I will side with the hackers.

Fox News Twitter account hacked. Tweets about Obama's assassination appear online.

Courtesy of PC World:

That is a disgusting thing to post, and I certainly do not see the humor in it.

I dislike Fox News as much as anybody, but this kind of crap is uncalled for, and joking that our President has been killed is completely indefensible.

Fortunately it appears that most people understood what was happening.

It's unclear if Fox News has control of its hacked Twitter account. The Fox News Politics homepage shows no mention of the hack, but the site did post a message alerting its reader to the false reports.

Despite the false reports coming out of the Fox News Politics Twitter account, online readers appear to be savvy enough to understand the messages are fakes and used the incident to lampoon Fox. In response to one of the false messages that read, "The President is dead. A sad 4th of July, indeed." Twitter user heydarguise said," Obviously thats fake tweet. Fox news would not be sad at passing of obama. IT would be party tyme."

North Korea's Youtube & Twitter Hacked!

Hackers celebrate North Korea heir's birthday

Sat Jan 8, 2011

"(Reuters) - Hackers have attacked North Korea's official Youtube and Twitter accounts, posting a cartoon showing Kim Jong-il's heir apparent driving a sports car into a crowd of starving countrymen."

And here is that video:

UPDATE: S. Korean hackers trade cyber blows with N. Korea

(AFP) – 1 day ago

SEOUL — "Computer hackers from South and North Korea are waging an apparent propaganda battle in cyberspace, less than two months after their militaries traded artillery fire across the tense sea border.

Users of the South's popular website dcinside.com have claimed responsibility for hacking into the North's Twitter account and its official website, and leaving messages denigrating the ruling Kim family.

A separate and now deleted posting on YouTube showed a cartoon of Kim Jong-Un -- youngest son and heir apparent of leader Kim Jong-Il -- mowing down ordinary people in a fancy sports car.

It was apparently posted to mark Jong-Un's birthday Saturday."
