Last week, I wrote a post in which I discussed the news of a "Romancing the Stone" remake. Today, in a surprising turn of events, NBC has hired writer Mark Friedman ("Home of the Brave", "The Forgotten" TV series) and director Shawn Levy ("Night at the Museum", "Date Night", "Real Steel") to turn the 1984 adventure movie into a TV series. Levy will probably direct the pilot episode and stay on the show as a producer and writer. At the moment it's unclear whether or not there will also be a feature length remake and if there will be one, it will probably be directed by Shawn Levy.
