New on DVD & Blu-Ray : THOR (2011)

Synopsis: Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the epic adventure, “Thor,” which spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful, young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

Anthony Hopkins to Play Psychic Serial Killer Hunter

Well, it's not really as exciting as it sounds in the title. I might have exaggerated a bit. Anthony Hopkins is in negotiations to star in the movie "Solace" and he will play a doctor with psychic abilities who is helping the FBI capture dangerous serial killers. It's disappointing in way, because I suppose we won't be seeing the menacing Hopkins that we love from movies like "Silence of the Lambs", "Fracture", or "The Rite". The script was originally penned by Sean Bailey and Ted Griffin ("Ocean's Eleven", "Matchstick Men") and subsequently rewritten by James Vanderbilt ("Zodiac") and Peter Morgan ("The Queen", "Hereafter"). I don't usually condone the rewrite process, but in this case, some big names have been assigned to it, so I'm going to look the other way just this once. "Solace" begins filming sometime next year and is expected to be released in 2014, so wait we shall.
