Friday adventures

We typically stay home and nerd out on Friday evenings, but tonight we have especially fun plans! Toby and I are going to the newly restored carousel in Brooklyn. It has 1,200 twinkling lights, which I know is going to blow his baby mind. (And I'll be getting snacks here.) Then Alex and I are joining friends for a sunset sail. I'm excited to feel the wind in our hair and see the city from the water. New York, you really nail it sometimes.

Also, the Cup of Jo Guide to NYC is officially slated for the week of September 26th! Can't wait to share.

A day to remember.

Our thoughts are with fellow New Yorkers and those around the world remembering 9/11, ten years ago today. The coverage in New York Magazine has been beautiful. xo

Takashi Murakami's 'My Lonesome Cowboy' to rope in seven figures at Sotheby's



"Artist and designer of the now-iconic Vuitton handbags, Takashi Murakami, is auctioning off several pieces in Sotheby's upcoming spring auctions. The most valuable, estimated between $3-4 million, is a sculpture of a manga dude, um, "ejaculating in lasso-like form," titled "My Lonesome Cowboy." Hey, it's not NSFW if it's art."
