The man knows how to ride more then a bull! But apart from being a super hot cowboy with incredible stamina and muscles that just beg for a good tongue lashing, he is also...sweet! And possessive. And just damn perfect. We see him go from a bit of a selfish prick to a responsible man who learns to take care of more then just number one.

Ava was also great, probably one of my favourite ladies in the series, her and Chase are kinda similar in the way that they are both a little spoiled and selfish in the beginning of the book, but as they carry on their road trip together they start to realize they need to take charge and be responsible for their own actions.

What can I say about the smoking hotness of this book! Like all LJ books it had some hot sex in it! These McKay men KNOW how to please a woman! Because of this book I now have a brand new fantasy involving, chaps, a cowboy hat and a deep fried twinky! (I have never had or actually seen a RL Twinky so I don't actually know what they are like. But I want one!)

This book seemed a little more serious then the other books, something really horrible happens that actually brought tears to my eyes.

But I am now DESPARATE for a book about Ben, Chase's older brother, he is just so HOT! And I have a feeling that his book is going to be on my whips-and-chains-excite-me shelf and damn is that doesn't make me feel a little squirmy!

You know what they say, it is always the quiet ones...! Well this book is a whole testament to that statement! Brandt is a quiet, nice guy on the outside, on the inside he is a sexy passionate man, who has been in love with Jessie since he first saw her. Unfortunately for both of them, she chose the wrong brother.

I really liked seeing them come closer together as they both look after the child, and seeing Jessie realize that Brandt might just be the perfect man for her. He is protctive and responsible, a perfect gentlman, but in the bedroom (or the sofa, the kitchen...) he is shows her passion that she has never really had before.

Like all the other Rough Riders books, this is HAWT, with plenty of dirty cowboy sex which just begs to be read again and again. But it was also sweet watching Brandt and Jessie falling in love was a treat.

We were also introduced to another side of the McKay family, as we seem to have run out of McKay brothers and I imagine they will be the subjects of the next books in this series and I cannot wait to read about them.

We have heard so much about Kane's hell raising ways in the other books in the series and even had hi featured in a rather tawdry threesome/foursome in "Cowgirl Up and Ride" and now finally Kane (also known as Buck!) has his own book. A book I really enjoyed, I don't know what it is about these twins, but Kane and Kade's book have got to be my top two in this series.

Kane has changed, he is now a responsible guy, despite how he is still seen by some people. However, this just adds to his appeal, he was such a great guy in this book. Loving, kind, hardworking, and ofcourse abso-fricking-lotely gorgeous. And the sex scenes in this were really good, hot and intense, Ginger is one lucky lady!

This series just keeps getting better and better and I really can not get enought of LJ's hot cowboys!

Can I just say, first of all, that this book brought back my love for this series for me! I was a bit disappointed with Colt's since I was expecting an amazing story. I didn't LOVE Cam's. But Keely McKay did not disappoint me!!!! Yay!

I've loved her character since the beginning. She's not ashamed to show the world who and how she is and live life to the fullest, doing always what she wants, even if at times might not be the best decision.

I saw the sparks flying between these two in the last book, and I couldn't wait to read this one.

Jack... well... Jack is my new favorite hero in this series. I love him! He's not perfect, he has his issues, but I adored him in this book.

The story is different, it's fun, we still get to see plenty of the MacKay family. Keely shows also a soft side, one that we knew was there hidden behind her tough exterior. And the sex... these two are so smoking hot!!!
The MacKays might piss you off a bit at the end, but that's almost to be expected with how they always act, specially when it concerns their little sister. It's like they lose what little common sense they had to begin with.

This was a great book and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series!

Domini and Cam.... Where to start. This was a weird one for me. At times I loved it, at times it was meh. But I think in the end it's a good story.

Cam has wanted Domini for 2 years, but he doesn't make a move because he thinks she can't handle his dark sexual needs. And then he finds out that's exactly what she wants. And these two are pretty hot, in a BDSM/dom kinda way (that aspect is pretty light IMO).

But Cam still has hang ups. He lost a leg during war, and still has a complex about that. He won't let Domini in right away, just as he hasn't let his family in.  At the same time, Domini has had a rough life and has issues of her own. In a way, they're both broken and it just works.

I didn't like Cam as much as I thought I would, though. I found myself thinking he was a bit of an ass sometimes, especially because of how he was treating Anton. I understand they all of a sudden found themselves with a ready made and full grown family, but I still didn't really like his attitude, at least in that aspect.

I also didn't like how/why they ended up married. At least the outspoken reason. They both wanted it, but neither one would say anything. And also how the wedding happened. I thought the threesome in this book was completely unnecessary, and wish that wasn't in the book. I never thought I'd say that!
I really enjoyed the bits we saw of the other MacKays. I'm really looking forward to Jack/Keely's book, they seemed to have SPARKS. Jessie and Brandt will probably end up together. I'm excited to keep reading this series.

I was waiting to read this book! I've loved Colt from the beginning, and India has always been intriguing! But in a way I was expecting a completely different book.

I thought these two would be so hot together they would burn down the house, but that's not what I felt. In fact, I almost feel like Cord and AJ were hotter. Although, sex against the truck in the middle of the road... well, that was pretty "out there" lol and hot! All the food play and syrups I could've really done without.. ewwww LOL

However, they've been best friends for years, and their connection seemed very real to me, and very sweet. They make a great couple. But talk about communication problems between them sometimes!

India has a lot of issues with how small town people see her because she's all tattoed, and I was not expecting that being that she always seemed so bad ass. She does have a sweet-insecure side to her, and it made her vulnerable.

Colt has been an outcast in his own family his whole life, and really his brothers have been ass**** to him. I'm glad Cam gave them a piece of his mind and that they realized what they've been doing to Colt all these years. I also liked the conversation Carson (his dad) had with him, telling him that he was the one most like him.

And, OMG, Kade and Skylar with twins! Soooo cute!!! Too many babies on the McKay oven running around, I've lost count! Don't they know about condoms?!?!?!?! LOL

I was excited to read Cam's book before, but after seeing a bit more of his personality in this book, I'm not too sure I'm that excited.



Review: Rough, Raw and Ready by Lorelei James

I have mixed feelings about this book. I wanted to see what happened to Trevor and Edgard since the end of Book 1. And then we found out he married Chassie. So I went in thinking either he must not really be in love with her or he's a total ass, and even though he has feelings for her, he's still in love with Edgard.



For a while Trevor and Chassie got to play "normal house" and enjoy their marriage, until one day Edgard comes back looking for Trevor.  He just wants to see where their relationship can go because he's never stopped loving him.  And if Edgard happens to be happy to play along with Chassie as well, then maybe that's a bonus.

In my opinion, Chassie took the whole thing very well, and too easy! I think with all the confidence issues she's had her whole life, something like that being thrown in her lap wouldn't have been so easy for her to accept and adapt to. But then again, she gets two hot guys loving all over her on a regular basis, so maybe that makes it easier for her!

The sex was pretty hot most of the time, but I found it a bit overwhelming, there was too much of it throughout the book, and sometimes it didn't even make sense! LOL And that's something for me to say!

I did feel terrible for what happened to Cam! I've always wanted to read more about him, but now, I feel as if I'll get to read toned-down version of his personality after what happened.

Colt comes through in a way for the three of them, which was nice, but I also found things missing with the logic on what he does for them and what he expects back.

And I do just have one complaint with all these cowboys.... Would it kill you to stop chewing and spitting tobacco???  Not hot, not sexy, just gross.  OK, all done now.

Anyway, it seems I found a lot of loose ends for my taste in this story!  I did like seeing the connection between Edgard and Trevor, it seemed real between them, and the moments with Chassie and Edgard were sweet as well.

Review: Tied Up, Tied Down by Lorelei James

Kade McKay has come back from 12 months to find that he has a 3 month daughter by the Skyler the woman who had broken up with him a year ago when she found out he was deceiving her. But Kade is determined to get her back, in the 12 months he has been gone he is still just in love with her as when he left, and seeing her with his baby makes him even more adament. But Sky has been burnt before and is reluctant to let him back into her heart.

Kade McKay has pretty much got to be the perfect man. He is sexy as hell, amazing in bed, considerate, not afraid to show affection, great with kids, honest, hardworking, doesn't mind 1 am feedings, funny and dotes on his daughter. The list could go on, I mean seriously PERFECT! I am completely in love with the man! Skyler was pretty good to, and I suppose she deserves this epitome of the male species! She was feisty and intelligent and I loved watching her cave under all the Kade McKay charm.

Although Kade is so far my favourite man in the series (Sorry Cord!) the reason that this book is my favourite is because all though this was no doubt sexy as hell and an erotica, it was also a little bit more aswell. It focused just as much on the emotional connection between Kade and Skylar as it did the physical. I think for that reason I found the sex MUCH hotter in this book then I have in the others. I also liked the prescense of Eliza, and fell even more in love with Kade when I saw what a devoted daddy he was and watched them all grow into a family.

We also saw the rest of the McKay gang and I can't wait to read Cam and Colt's book

Review: Cowgirl Up and Ride by Lorelei James

 

It finally works for me! I was not expecting that I would like this book as much as I did because it seemed AJ didn't have much of a personality in the previous books. She seemed to be always in Keely's shadow, but...well, who wouldn't be, she's the star, right? But I really like AJ's character now.

She's been in love with Cord pretty much her whole life, even when she didn't know what that meant. He's older than her, so he never looked at her that way. He's been married, to a woman who wasn't right for him, had a kid with her, and is now divorced, and a single father. But one night AJ decides it's time to get Cord to notice that she's all grown up, and make him an offer he can't refuse.

At the same time as they are having their secret affair, AJ is going through a lot of personal stuff, losing her home, not knowing where her future will take her now that Keely has decided on a different path than hers.

This is also a very emotional book as we see the MacKay side drama unfold with Colt and his addictions, Dag and his choices, and Kade as he realizes that he wants more from life than what he's been used to.

And who can leave out little Ky, he's so cute. And when he came in the one morning and asked AJ why she didn't have a sleepover with him instead of his dad (since she used to babysit him) I about died laughing!

This was definitely my favorite in the series so far! Wait... that is not saying much, let me re-phrase that... I liked it A LOT and can't wait to keep reading!

In the last book you could see the sexual tension between Cash and Gemma and I am really glad that they have gotten a book. I thought they were a great couple and the swx between them, in true Lorelei James style was panty wettingly hot! The only thing I didn't like was the threesome they had it just seemd so random, and afterwards I felt kind of sorry for Trevor.

There was also some attempts for Cash and Macie to build some kind of father-daughter relationship but that part of the story seemed a bit half hearted and just an excuse to keep Macie there so she could hook up with Carter.

As for Carter and Macie, I have to say these were the parts that I didn't really like. Simply, Carter annoyed the crap out of me. And the painiting thing? Don't get me started, I think every female who read that wanted to give Carter a good kick in his delectable hiney!

But, over all it wasn't bad, I think I did prefer the first one, and I have heard some amazing things about the next one, so onwards I shall read!

Review: Long Hard Ride by Lorelei James

If you're looking for a HOT cowboy erotica series, then look no further than the Rough Riders by Lorelei James.  The best thing is to go into reading this book without expecting deep characters and wonderful storylines. This is an erotica book and it does VERY well in the sex department. However the characters and story in this book were a bit lacking for me.

I didn't dislike any of them, they were just not the brightest bulbs in the box. Channing had left home and was just hanging around pro bullriders while on tour. Yeah, such a smart cookie that one. And she opens up the book by winning a wet t-shirt contest. Oh boy!

Colby was actually not too bad, considering. He's one of the wild Mckays. He's a pro bullrider, has always taken women as playthings and has always shared them with his traveling partners Trevor and Edgard.

Now throw in the fact that Colby might actually have feelings for Channing, Trevor is bisexual and half in love with Edgard, and Edgard is just in love with Trevor and doesn't want any part of all that threesomeness, and we are dealing with a bit of a mess.

I didn't think it was very smart that the reason why Colby wouldn't want to be in a serious relationship with her was because his brother Cord had married a city girl that couldn't deal with cowboy life after having a kid and they ended up divorced. So that's a legit argument in my opinion specially after this girl has been following them because that's what she wants.

So OK the Mckays are kinda cute and lovable, but annoying, close minded machos as well.

There is some m/m loving, so if you're uncomfortable with that, just be warned, and know in this book it's at a minimum. There is plenty of hot menage sex, but also some pretty hot and connected sex between Channing/Colby and Channing/Trevor.

However, keep reading, this is an excellent series, definetely a "panty changer".
