The Dom's Dungeon

I love a good BDSM book and with the right Dom, it makes it all the more better. But what makes the ultimate Dom?

Is it in the way they carry themselves, with purpose or swagger? Or the way they make you wait in anticipation, with your insides churning with the knowledge of what's to come? It's in the precise way they bound you, the whispered words they say, and the heavy hand that stings.

Okay, okay, I'm getting ahead of myself here. So to answer this question of who is the ultimate Dom, we've asked fellow bloggers, readers and erotica romance authors to pick who is their favorite Dom. Here are your choices...

 Excerpt:

For the millionth time she wondered how this was happening – how she’d let this happen. And yet, it felt powerful somehow. Mark said he would push her, but, more important, she was pushing herself to explore these fantasies she’d been hiding for so long.

“Are you ready?”
Her belly quivered with nerves and anticipation. “Yes.” She braced herself on the floor.
She heard his boots thudding as he circled her. “Can you follow instructions?”
“Yes.”
“Then why are you still wearing your panties?”

Excerpt:
She walked to the edge and perched gingerly, hands clasped in her lap. He moved with grace and elegance that was a contradiction to the rough, animalistic way he’d fucked her mouth just an hour before. He was indeed a contradiction, one that intrigued her. Outwardly he seemed so civilized, so refined. He was the epitome of culture, a consummate gentlemen. And yet there was a caveman buried under the polished exterior. A man driven by his needs and desires. A man who quite simply wouldn’t accept less.

Excerpt:
He leaned forward, an elbow braced on the table. His gaze poured directly into her, molten and unrelenting. “Do you understand what it means to submit to a man? Completely surrender?”
Morgan tried to suck in a breath, stunned to find it ragged beyond her control. His eyes flared hot with approval.
“T-this isn’t about me, “ she argued breathlessly. “I just need to relate the concept to the-“
“How can you relate without a taste of it, cher? A little nibble ain’t gonna hurt you.” The smile he flashed her could only be termed pure sin. “You might even like it.”
That’s exactly what Morgan was afraid of.

Review: Comfort Food by Kitty Thomas

Comfort Food
By Kitty Thomas
Erotica/BDSM
Find it on Goodreads!

This is a hard one to define! I put it under my erotica shelf although it isn't really, or at least it wasn't to me. Most of us who have read a little erotica or even romance would have run across some BDSM a little spanking and handcuffing your partner to the head board. But this book is to the extreme of BDSM, to the Master/slave relationship, and an unwilling, at first, slave at that. So fair warning, if you are easily offended or even a little squemish, then put the book down and back away slowly; you aren't going to like it!

Emily Vargas is drugged and kidnapped, she wakes up and finds herself in a cell, with no windows and only one door. Then a man comes in carrying a bowl of her comfort food, chicken noodle soup, and that is when the mental torture and conditioning starts. He never lays a hand on her, unless she asks him to, and soon she finds herself begging for his touch will do anything he wants to please him and for him to reward her with a touch or caress.

I finished this book last night and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. It was so good and yet really really disturbing. Even though Emily knew what was happening, knew she was developing a serious case of Stolkholm Syndrome she couldn't stop it happening, even though she knew he was a sadist by the end she was willing to become the perfect maschoist. And as you read through the book I found myself, not liking or loving Master but almost submitting to him as well, even though you know what he is doing is wrong you become grateful to him as you know he could be so much worse with the absoloute power he has over her. It was weird. I wanted to hate him because that is teh socially acceptable response, but I didn't, which freaked me out a little.

This is worth picking up and reading, I could go on about this book for ages but I think you definitely have to read it to be able to understand what I am talking about. This was a fantastic read, something very different and thought provoking and I look forward to reading more of Kitty Thomas' books.

Favourite Quotes
I know there are a lot of them, but I still had to cut them down! There are so many good ones!

...despite all the empowering speeches and the women's movement, in the grand scheme...women are prey

~~~
He wanted to make sure the conditions were clear to me, that nothing would be given to me freely. I would pay for it all.
~~~

My eyes look to haunted to be mine. Where did my soul go? I couldn't see it anymore.

~~~
He smiled that soulless smile that made me feel warm and like I was dying all at the same time.
~~~

I'm your responsiblity now. You created me. You made me this way. This is your fucking mess. If you suddenly care about morality, then don't make me go. Let me stay. I'll be your slave. I'll be your whore. I'll never fight you. I won't disobey. Whatever you want, just don't make me go back. Please. I can't live in that world anymore. You know it's true. I just want to be yours."

~~~
What we shared was deeper than love. It was a mad and unyielding obsession, and it was mutual. And the flames from it would likely kill one of us some day. Probably me. I couldn't bring myself to care. I'd rather have this intensity with him than a hundred years of mediocrity with another.
Review: Holly by Dominique Adair
Holly (Southern Submissives # 1)
by Dominique Adair
Erotica Romance
The first in a series of short stories that are meant to take you on a trip into the world of bondage, and as always with Ms. Adair, very well done.
Holly has a preference for being a submissive sexually. She's comfortable with her choice and is comfortable in that type of relationship. I'm warning you at the beginning of this book we get a view of an event in Holly's recent past, in her relationship with her previous Master, who she refers to as "The Bastard" later on (I love that!). Needless to say, he violates her trust, and hurts her, emotionally and physically.
Now, only months later, she encounters a situation that she was not expecting. And doesn't know how to react.
Hot, successful business man, Ethan Clarke, is presented with an opportunity to get Holly. He first met her at a D/s party, while she was still with "The Bastard", and knew at that moment she was THE ONE for him. He's wanted her ever since, she's taken over his dreams, and now he's in a position to get her in his bed. Maybe this wasn't the perfect choice to go about it, in my opinion, but in the end, and in a short amount of time, you realize he truly cares for Holly and can make her happy.
He has to heal her from the damage caused by "The Bastard" in the only way he can. By helping her get back to living and experiencing the things she likes.
This is hot, steamy, a bit kinky, but ultimately a short but entertaining read, and I'll definetely be reading the next book!
