EXCITED TO FLY. Samantala, simula sa September 30 ay "lilipad" na onstage si Sam bilang si Peter Pan.
Ang produksiyon ay mapapanood sa Meralco Theater hanggang sa huling linggo ng October, 2011. Directed by Jaime del Mundo and Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo.
Excited nang lumipad si Sam.
"Yes, for a musical," nakangiting sambit niya.
Magmumula pa sa London ang mga flying machines na gagamitin nina Sam at mga kasamang singer-actors.
"Medyo kinakabahan ako," pag-amin niya.
"Kasi may mga instance na ako yung nagkakabit dun sa ibang tao [in similar flying scenes], while onstage sila ang nagkakabit sa akin.
"So everything has to be precise, has to be right. Kaya may rehearsals kami doon.
"We have someone from abroad who will be flying in with the machine.
"May training din kami for that. Malaking risk, pero maganda rin yung kalalabasan."
As Peter Pan, the boy who refuses to grow up, nakaka-relate ba si Sam sa kanyang role?
"In a way," sagot niya.
"Right now, kasi siyempre, nasa tail end na ako ng teenage years ko.
"I'm in that stage na... magtu-twenty [years old] na; I'm turning 19 this year, tapos 20 next year...
"Getting older, di ba? More serious about things, siyempre. Whether we like it or not."
Sam or Samuel Lawrence Lopez Concepcion, born on October 17, 1992, was the big winner of the Little Big Star search in 2006.
His winning the title served as his passport to a singing-acting career, first on television, then modeling, recording and the movies.
Sa theater musicals mas unang nagsimula si Sam, having done roles in a musical, playing the young Jose Rizal in Sino Ka Ba, Jose Rizal? at the age of five.
