It's growing!

As many of you know (unless my words are just shooting into space like astronaut urine, which is entirely possible.) I am currently working on book 2 of the Ominous Secret series. I'm not sure why I am working on it, as the first book hasn't been picked up by an agent, let alone by a publisher, yet. But I am. And here are my reasons:

1.) Because even if nothing comes of this, an unfinished story is totally not an option.

2.) Because if an agent likes it (do you hear me, God?) and asks for the subsequent books, I need to be prepared.

3.) Because my legion of 25 (it could be up to 26 or 27...we'll find out when Bekki and Jen are done reading.) "fans" want to know what happens to Dillon and Gabe next.

And 4.) Because at night, when I can't sleep, what else am I going to do with my time? Scrapbook? Um...no. We've been over the pro-or-anti-scrapbooking thing. I've lost friendships over this debate!

So anyway...I keep plugging away at book 2, This Ominous Secret: The Agenda. And, with every chapter I rewrite or edit, it seems to grow..sometimes even doubling! I know this can't be good for my word count, so I am sure my final editing process will be interesting. However...the story is just so good. With its twists and turns and drama drama drama. I am dragging out the torture on a couple that essentially belongs together. *SIGH* So much fun. What will I do when I am completely, 100% done? It's strange to even imagine. Maybe I'll tackle one of the other stories knocking around in my head.

But I really should at least try to keep my word count under control. We'll see. It's harder than it sounds.
