OPRAH WINFREY Miss Philippines Should Have Won Miss Universe

September 13, 2011 11:42 PM EDT A representative of Oprah Winfrey denied that Oprhah said that Miss Philippines should have won Miss Universe based on her final answer.

In a statement that circulated in the Internet and allegedly made on NBC news, Oprah Winfrey declared what she thought about the winners of Monday night's Miss Universe 2011 pageant.

Oprah Winfrey thinks "Shamcey Supsup from the Philippines should have won."

"I have reservations with the results. If the only basis is the Question and Answer portion, after having been trimmed down to 5, Miss Philippines deserved to win. What made her different from the rest is that she had no seconds to rethink of her answer as she had no interpreter to break the ice." says Winfrey in her statement.

Winfrey said Miss Philippines showed the intelligence of a global "beauty and brains" type because of her straightforward answer to the final question.

"The ofther finalists had their interpreters and having breaks on seconds to think about their answers. Hands down, Miss Philippines answered straight to the point," said Winfrey.

Hollywood actress Vivica A. Fox was the one who handed Miss Philippines the question, "Would you change your religious beliefs to marry the person you love? Why or why not?"

Miss Philippines responded, "If I had to change my religious beliefs, I will not marry the person that I love because the first person that I love is God who created me.  I have my faith and my principles; these are what make me who I am. And if that person loves me, he should love my God too."

Supsup has been a pageant favorite, ranking second in the swimsuit and evening gown votes from fans.
Her third place finish has many asking whether her religious beliefs played a hand in the judges’ decision.

3rd Runner up

Shasmcey, 24, 5’7” graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of the Philippines College of Architecture. She also topped the Architecture board exam in July 2010.  She has a bright future ahead of her.

Shamcey se graduo  con altos honeres en la Universidad de Arquitectura de las Filipinas.  Tambien alcanzo la calificacion mas alta en el examen para obtener su titulo de la Asociacion de Arquitectura. Tiene un futuro brillante.
