Yes, you heard me correctly. I had dinner with Jane Porter. She took a big group of local writers and some of her local readers out to dinner tonight, before her book signing. It was wonderful! She bought us all dinner (so unexpected, and so totally thoughtful) and then she talked to us all, and listened to us (well, me) gush and ramble. I had a great time. I didn't even act like a moron! (Much)
My writing partner, Jenna Riley, was with me. She and I had so much fun making ourselves giggle. At one point, we were referring to each other as our life partner, and calling each other Bruce, just to make ourselves laugh. I'm not sure where that came from, but I do appreciate a good laugh. All that was missing was our other partner, Jess Macallan. *SIGH* I hope she can come along next time.
I have to say that tonight was a great night. Jane is a gracious host, and an absolute pro at treating her fans like gold. I am proud to say that I am an avid reader, and that I will continue to follow Jane's career. And not just because she bought me dinner....but because her books rock! I love a book that can make you laugh, cry, smile, shiver, and mourn when the story is done.
