I got a rejection in the mail today. It said that the agent already had as many clients as she could handle, but that she found the story "engaging" and the characters to be "absolutely delightful". That was a pleasant rejection! For once I wasn't left feeling empty and downtrodden. I feel sort of encouraged. It's weird........once you've been rejected a few (hundred) times, you learn to discern between the good ones and the bad. When and if an agent asks for my manuscript in full, I am not even going to know what to do with myself. I'll probably p*ss my pants and then throw up. Then he/she will take back their offer....and I will be back to square one. *SIGH* I'd better get a handle on that.
Brooke Moss.
