Most recent reads.

I read all the time. My B&N Nook bill is outrageous, and my husband hates me for it. (Kidding. He doesn't hate me, but I don't think he likes the bill.) Anyway, I have been reading like mad lately. Well, the truth is, I read like mad all the time, but especially lately, because I have been trying to get myself to August 24th, when Mockingjay (Suzanne Collins) comes out. Argh! It's taking so long!! But the good news is, I've been preoccupying myself with some seriously good books.

Ok, to start things off: I recently read All I Ever Wanted, by Kristan Higgins...who is literally one of my heroes. She takes romance, adds a dash of humor, and a side order of classiness (meaning: She doesn't get too raunchy, but gets sexy, which I love!) and viola! One awesome book after another. I am now in love with two of her leading men: Malone, of Catch of the Day and Ian, of All I Ever Wanted. *SIGH* I love them. And I love Kristan, too! She actually added me to her friends on facebook, and then PERSONALLY answered a couple of my comments. Who is starstruck? I am!! She is seriously my hero. To write as honestly and captivatingly as she does would be a career well executed, as far as I am concerned.

I also read the 3rd installment in the Bridal Quartet series by Nora Roberts, who, from a romance writers perspective, can do no wrong. If I ever meet her, which I doubt, I will probably drop to my knees in a very "Wayne and Garth" we're not worthy, we're not worthy way. But anyway, this book was great. So far, my favorites of the three books (there is a 4th coming out in November) was the first one, in which Mac falls in love with nerdy Carter, and I loved it. Reminded me of my own lovable nerd. *Shuddering sigh* This book was about Laurel, and there was a taste of what's to come for Parker, so I am excited to see how the series ties up.

I also recently read Linger, the sequel to Maggie Stievfalters' Shiver. OOOOOOOOOOOHHH mother of all good freakin' cliff hangers!!! I literally ran around the house screaming, "noooooooooooo!!!!!" when it ended. I thought I was going to die. Really. Good book. Go get it. And read it. But read Shiver first, otherwise it won't make sense. Ohhhhhhhh, so good. SO GOOD.

Ok, I've also read Tori Spellings latest book, Unchartered TeriTORI. And I have to say, I freaking love that girl. She writes how I talk. Like, she is completely humble and self-deprecating, and I love it. I love that she is making up with her mother, and is totally open about getting trashed all the time by her former costars. I love that she got swine flu and tweets about her kids all the time. I love her. You may hate her, but I love her.

And I also read The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud. Oh, how this book made me cry. In a good way. I love a good emotional story. My girlfriends and I went to see it the night the movie came out, and it wasn't as good as the book, but the movie was a pretty good adaptation to the book. (Which, for me, is a huge compliment, considering I never say that. Like, ever. Ever.) The book was touching and emotional, and so incredibly sweet. I loved it.

Ok, that's enough books for now.
