Wow. I mean, WOW. I can honestly say that it didn't end the way that I had expected it too, but it ended beautifully, with the characters that I saw together in my head winding up together. I was completely breathless when I read that last page. What a mind Suzanne Collins has!!
I write contemporary romance, so I am nowhere near where Ms. Collins' mind must be in order to create such intricate, riveting drama....but she inspires me so much! It is incredibly thought provoking, and intense, and sad...but not so sad that you don't want to keep reading. I was impressed.
Oh, and if you haven't read the first two books in her series, you're gonna want to. Otherwise you'll have no idea what the crap is going on when you get to Mockingjay. They are called The Hunger Games
and Catching Fire (The Second Book of the Hunger Games)
. I promise you that you'll be glued to your seat. I promise!!!Ok, gotta go. Naptime calls, and I have lots of housework to do before I can settle down and finish my own latest chapter. *SIGH* I love, love, love reading a good book.
